Give Today. Help Tomorrow.
Donate exactly what is needed.
SIFA Fireside is the result of the merger of two charities: Supporting Independance From Alcohol and the Fireside Charity. They are based in the Digbeth/ Highgate area of Birmingham and we have around 50 staff and a similar number of volunteers. SIFA Fireside works with those who are homeless, affected by alcohol or otherwise socially excluded to improve their physical, social and mental well-being.
The items listed here are those currently needed by SIFA Fireside. When you purchase a donation through this store, your exact purchased item is sent directly to SIFA Fireside. They can then distribute or use the donated items as required, making a real, tangible difference to someone’s life. It also means that they don’t have to spend money donations on items, and can instead use it for those things only money can buy.
There is no minimum order size, and all items include free delivery.
SIFA Fireside don’t pay for their donation shop, and Give Today use just £0.50 of the item prices below to cover transaction costs and price fluctuations from suppliers. Give Today don’t profit from the sale of any items on the website.
SIFA Fireside at work:
“We want to create a city free from homelessness, where everyone can access the services they need to live well.”
SIFA Fireside do this by supporting adults who are homeless and vulnerable by meeting their immediate needs (like access to showers and a health clinic) and long-term needs. This means helping them feel confident and determined as well as warm and comfortable.
- Supporting vulnerable adults
- Meeting everyday needs
- Supporting move-on
Someone experiencing homelessness has often lived through trauma, neglect or prolonged poor mental health. SIFA Fireside help them overcome the continued trauma that is homelessness with trauma-informed care which recognises and addresses this fact.
This is what’s important to them:
- Building trust with people to help them through a crisis
- Long-term, sustainable solutions to homelessness.
- What their clients think
