RHEA at work:
Richmond Hill Elderly Action (RHEA) is an independent charity in Leeds, West Yorkshire, part of the Neighbourhood Network Schemes for older people. Based in Richmond Hill community centre on Long Close Lane, RHEA works “with and for local older people” in Richmond Hill, East End Park, Cross Green, Saxton Gardens and parts of Osmondthorpe, all in the Leeds 9 postcode.
RHEA provides a varied range of activities 6 days a week that all tackle social isolation and promote people being a part of their own community. As well as that, there is also a wide range of support services available where the RHEA team work with people on a one to one basis to resolve any issues or problems they may be facing. With a team of 1 full time and 3 part time staff and a number of volunteers, RHEA makes a vast difference in the area and has just under 600 members. Activities carry a very small running cost and all the support services are completely free of charge.
