Give Today. Help Tomorrow.
Donate exactly what is needed.
Disability Stockport support disabled people through their services. These services are centred around social interaction and are on a holistic, diverse and inclusive basis.
The items listed here are those currently needed by Disability Stockport. When you purchase a donation through this store, your exact purchased item is sent directly to them. They can then distribute or use the donated items as required, making a real, tangible difference to someone’s life. It also means that Disability Stockport don’t have to spend money donations on items, and can instead use it for those things only money can buy.
There is no minimum order size, and all items include free delivery.
Disability Stockport don’t pay their donation shop, and Give Today use just £0.50 of the item prices below to cover transaction costs and price fluctuations from suppliers. Give Today do not profit from the sale of any items on the website.
Disability Stockport at work:
Disability Stockport will do their best to: Stand up for disabled people so you are fairly treated, keep up to date with issues that matter to disabled people ,listen and respond to local disabled people so they have a handle on what extra support you may need, work alongside other organisations that may be able to help you better than they can, advise and assist other helpers for disabled people in Stockport (and surrounding area) and encourage you to join Disability Stockport because your views (and those of your family or carer) are important to them.
Disability Stockport is always trying to improve and expand the services they offer. They are currently looking at ways to develop and improve their Independent Living Centre in Stockport even further and make it a true Community Hub. Part of this plan includes building a ‘Mood Lounge’, accessible for both members and non-members.
The mood lounge is an adult version of a sensory room that will meet the sensory needs of the members supported. It is planned to provide a large room, with a large projector screen, surround sound and colour changing soft lighting to create a relaxing atmosphere. They will be installing moveable seating and a range of sensory equipment to suit various needs. The room could be used or hired (on a donation basis as affordable) for sensory room experiences, cinema club, low level sensory training and meetings, relaxation and small events (e.g. birthdays). Any help towards raising funds towards the ceiling light, or help with knocking down of the wall to provide the space required to make this happen are massively appreciated.
